JOHN TRITT
SR. VICE PRESIDENT,
GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
John Tritt has over 15 years of experience in New York government relations. He began his career as a union organizer with the Hotel Trades Council (HTC), winning major campaigns at the Ace Hotel and Central Park Boathouse. John has long-standing relationships at the local, state, and national levels as a result of his decade-plus in New York’s premier political unions, most recently leading SEIU 32BJ’s New York operation since 2021. Before joining 32BJ, he served as Executive Director of Outreach for Early Childhood Education and Student Enrollment at New York City’s Department of Education, the largest public school system in the nation. While there, he leveraged his organizing expertise to spearhead innovative outreach and communications to enroll tens of thousands of students in Pre-K for All annually, and oversaw the launch of enrollment in 3-K.
In his capacity as Deputy Political Director, New York for 32BJ, John was Treasurer of Labor Strong, a $1 million independent expenditure during the 2023 election cycle coalescing top labor unions across the City to elect pro-labor leadership.
He took leave to serve as a Senior Advisor on Eric Adams for Mayor and went on to be appointed to several of Mayor Adams’s transition committees. He played a key role in labor’s support of Adrienne Adams for Speaker of the New York City Council.
John lives on the Upper East Side with his fiancee and their dog, Franklin.
